Reckless Progress

Paving stones lie neatly stacked (above) as workers extend a new pavement from the al-Marawani Mosque northward along the eastern wall of the Temple Mount. In the debris resulting from this and other building activity, architectural fragments like the column pieces below are plainly visible. With crucial elements of Jerusalem’s past being either paved over or carelessly exposed and carted away, individuals and organizations are mobilizing to stop further construction on the Temple Mount.
