Occasionally we find in the sifting some amusing objects which illustrate the wide variety of activities that took place on the mount in ancient as well as modern times.<\/p>\n<p>Many objects, among them modern Jewish ones, are often very interesting and surprising. On the occasion of Hanukkah we present here a plastic dreidel (Svivon) with the words &#8220;\u2026 Festival of Lights&#8221;, and a base of the Menorah. Many dreidels which are used in Israel have four Hebrew letters which form the acronym &#8220;<strong>N<\/strong>es <strong>G<\/strong>adol <strong>H<\/strong>aya <strong>P<\/strong>o&#8221; (a great miracle happened <em>here<\/em>). We were surprised to find the Hebrew letters &#8220;Hey&#8221; and &#8220;Shin&#8221; on our dreidel, which represent a similar but different phrase which are common on dreidels used in the Diaspora \u2013 &#8220;<strong>N<\/strong>es <strong>G<\/strong>adol <strong>H<\/strong>aya <strong>S<\/strong>ham&#8221; (a great miracle happened <em>there<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_550\" style=\"width: 371px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"\/\/tmsifting.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/12\/88434-c.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-550\" class=\" wp-image-550\" src=\"\/\/tmsifting.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/12\/88434-c.jpg\" alt=\"Plastic Dreidel\" width=\"361\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tmsifting.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/12\/88434-c.jpg 798w, https:\/\/tmsifting.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/12\/88434-c-300x247.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tmsifting.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/12\/88434-c-768x633.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-550\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Plastic Dreidel<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We also occasionally find lead seals indicating kosher food, singed by the Israeli Chief Rabbinate.
