El Proyecto de Tamizado del Monte del Templo es una iniciativa única, accesible a todo el público. Mójese un poco las manos y toque tesoros reales de los periodos del primer, segundo Templo y más; consiga artefactos que alumbran las formas de vidas pasadas.
Este gran proyecto se hizo posible por un evento desafortunado. Montañas de tierra llenas de artefactos arqueológicos fueron excavados y removidas del Monte del Templo. El Monte del Templo nunca ha sido accesible para excavaciones arqueológicas, pero estos montones de tierra nos brindan una oportunidad rara y única para descubrir que hay entrado en el Monte del Templo. Se inventó una solución creativa para recobrar los tesoros escondidos por la cantidad masiva de terreno removido: El proyecto desarrollo una técnica de cernido mojado que le permite a los residentes y visitantes de Jerusalem a participar en el rescate y descubrimiento de artefactos antiguos y conectarse a la herencia del Monte del Templo.
Más de 200,000 personas han tomado parte del cernido de la antigua tierra, haciendo de este el proyecto arqueológico más abierto al público del mundo entero. Hasta hoy, se han extraído miles de artefactos de esa tierra, incluyendo monedas, lozas del piso del Templo, armas antiguas, emblemas y más.
Usted también puede encontrar partes de la historia y contribuir a su preservación para las generaciones futuras! Cada hallazgo es documentado incluso El nombre de quien lo halla. Participar en el proyecto del cernido del Monte del Templo envuelve un programa de dos horas lo cual incluye una orientación y guía de cernido; el cernido y un sumario donde su guía le explica el significado de los hayazgos de su grupo. Cada cubo contiene artefactos de todos los períodos históricos del Monte del Templo.
El cernido no requiere esfuerzo físico y no se espera que los participantes se ensucien, pero puede que se mojen. Las condiciones del lugar son aptas para todas las temporadas del año.
Los participantes deberían reservar con anticipación.
Nota importante: El Proyecto del Cernido del Monte del Templo se ha movido y ya no está localizado en la antigua facilidad en El Parque Nacional del Valle de Zurim, este continua sus operaciones facilidad de cernido arqueológico para tierras de otros sitios ( No del Monte del Templo).

* On Fridays the site is open only if the date is visible in the bookings table (the site is opened for bookings if a group of at least 25 participants has booked). For smaller groups and individuals it is recommended to try and book a Friday activity several days before.

Diercciones a los estacionamientos en la vencíndad del lugar del cernido:
Estacionamiento Pagando- Estacionamiento de la Universidad Hebrea (Hebrew Univesity) al final de la calle Binyamin Mazar (eslabón de mapa google / eslabón de mapa waze) – para pagar necesita la aplicación de celulares “cellopark” en su teléfono. Luego de estacionar, cruce la calle en dirección al lugar del cernido que está rodeado de verja con postes de metales. Un letrero marrón apunta al lugar.
Estacionamiento gratuito – Ebla calle Hadassah Lampel ( eslabón de mapa Google / eslabón de mapa waze). Estacionamiento al final de la Calle, entonces regresé caminando al comienzo, viré a la derecha y luego otra derecha hacia la entrada del lugar del cernido. Nota- no camine en dirección al parque nacional Emek Zurim.
Favor de notar- no se puede conducir en dirección contraria del lugar del cernido hacia la calle Hadassah Lampel.
Volunteering
We are happy to accept volunteers, but since we need to invest in training volunteers, we ask potential volunteers to commit to at least fourteen days of work, and to be prepared to carry out work involving physical effort or office work (such as labeling pottery sherds). Volunteers at the site receive three days of training, which enable them to accompany groups and check the sifting results of visitors.
We do not provide transport or meals for volunteers, who are asked to make their own way to the site and to bring their lunch.

We are currently looking for help in the following areas: counting artifacts and data entry, studio photography, graphical editing and programming in ACCESS and SAS.
Archaeological students interested in helping out voluntarily as research assistants are likewise welcome to send us their resume.
Additional Tour Programs
For groups who wish to receive an enriched activity and a guided tour, we can provide the following programs:
- A tour of nearby sites including: the Augusta Victoria lookout tower, the Yehudai Lookout and the Mount Scopus botanical garden, including the Cave of Nicanor.
- An in-depth presentation covering the history and archaeology of the Temple Mount, including key artifacts recovered by the sifting project.
- A full day walking tour highlighting the archaeology of the Temple Mount, including: A comprehensive archaeological tour of the Temple Mount*, the royal compound at the Ophel dated to the First Temple Period and the Jerusalem Trail (including the monumental tombs of the Kidron Valley, the Valley of the Kings and the Emek Tzurim National Park, ending at the sifting site at the Masu’ot Lookout). At the sifting site the group will receive an in-depth presentation on the Temple Mount Sifting Project and its finds, together with participation in the sifting activity.
*For those preferring not to enter the Temple Mount we offer an alternative tour including a walk around the Temple Mount’s walls and the Davidson Center.
