Bronze coin of Agrippa I, the grandson of Herod.

Agrippa is mentioned numerous times in conjunction with the Temple by Josephus, as well as in various Rabbinic sources, though at least some of these sources probably relate to his son, Agrippa II.

Obverse: Umbrella-like royal canopy, surrounded by inscription: “AΓPIΠA BACIΛE[WC]” – “King Agrippa”

Reverse: Three ears of grain issuing from between two leaves. the right-handed ear of grain, as well as the number 6 (of Agrippa’s reign) have worn off.

Date: 41/42 CE
